1. This morning Father Babowitch and Grades 5 through 8 were invited to the
Lower Church for a presentation by Ms. Kim Flaville from the Connelly
Foundation to honor Aidan Haurin (8A) who has become the 29th OLC
student to be named a Neumann Scholar! 907 students from across the
Archdiocese qualified to take the test and of that number, 40 are named
2018 Neumann Scholars! This honor entitles Aidan to a four-year
scholarship to the Archdiocesan High School of his choice. (He is close to a
decision...) We congratulate Aidan, his supportive family, and the teachers
who have guided him through the years.
2. We will be collecting non-perishable food items for our Thanksgiving Food
Drive the next two weeks.
3. Grades 6 & 3 may bring in orders for nuggets/fries ($2.75) & ice cream
tomorrow for their lunches on Wednesday.
4. First in Math Update: Teams of the Week: 2A - 5,502 stickers, 2C - 4,321
3C - 4,219. Players of the Week: Anthony Herb 3A - 1,570 stickers,
Daniel Wang 7C - 1,503 Dillon Carr 3C - 1,389! OLC moved into 10th Place
in the Archdiocese! The Top 10 in the Archdiocese for Grade Levels are:
K1 - 10th Place, 1B (4th) 1A (5th) 2C (3rd) 2A (6th)! Congratulations, keep
up your great work, and thank you to Mrs. Cox for keeping score!
5. Flyers were sent home about our Fall Festival and all are invited to attend!
The Dress-Down day for bringing in baked goods will be this Friday 11/10
and the Dress-Down for Household Spin items will be next Thursday 11/16.
6. Our special intentions include the victims and families of the tragic
shooting in Texas and the sister of Sister Leonora whose funeral was today.
