1. With heavy hearts we prayerfully remember the families of the victims of the recent
tragedy in Texas, and know this was not the Memorial we anticipated remembering at
this time...
2. With that said, any apprehention I had last night was allayed when I saw the smiling
faces of the students as they came to school this morning and realized how much
they looked forward to this annual event! Father Babowitch, Mrs. Costello, our staff
and I were so appreciative of the Home & School generously helping us provide the
amusements, and being a part of the volunteers both in the gym and outside in the
Food Court and amusement area. The latter was a concern of mine, but having the
volunteers readily monitoring this area conscientiously was an assurance that our
kiddos were in secure hands, especially since the Lord provided us with fantastic
weather! The volunteers indoors were great because they were attentive to any
"shoppers" who needed a "pick-up in Aisle 4" and were very helpful with the raffle
drawings, both grade-wise and the "Father's Day" raffles! It was touching to hear
the students cheer the classmates who won, give hugs, high-fives, etc. Over-all, very
good sports! (Thank you, Parents/Guardians!) They loved the snacks you provided in
abundance and the prizes you dropped off for the class raffles! (Teachers shopped for
their absent students.) Father Babowitch was ever-present, checking outdoors,
enjoying the kids in their "inflatables" and giving shopping tips in the gym. Mrs.
Costello, our invaluable staff and 8th graders were at the top of their game and made
for an organized and well-planned experience for all! You could not help being
pleasantly affected by so much genuine joy! These days may be few and far between
but we become spiritually energized by them and thank God for looking out for us!
3. Grades 5 & 4 may order Chick-fil-A next Wednesday for their lunches next Thursday.
Also, Snack order for the week after: 5 days.
4. Take care, stay safe, and have a loving & blessed, family Memorial Day extended
weekend, remembering to pray for those who served in the military to protect our
freedoms over the years...
