1. Today we prayed for the victims of 9/11, their families, and the first responders, many of whom have passed away recently from exposure to toxic elements while attempting recovery of the victims in the ruins of the Twin Towers.
2. Grades 1 to 5 attended the Science Explorers assembly after lunch today. (Optional after school program.)
3. Our students met their lunch moderators today and were encouraged to be kind and respectful diners.
4. Today all hands were on deck as we welcomed 134 three and four year olds to our K through 8 crew and we now stand at 943 students. Our 8th graders will be their recess and lunch aides. Feel free to encourage their early childhood skills...
5. Mr. Severino, who will still "quarterback" our OLC Rocketry Team on Friday afternoons, is requesting any 7th and or 8th graders interested in this program to sign on ASAP. He would like to prepare them for another run for the Team America Rocketry Challenge. We came in 6th place in the nation last May and Mr. "Sev" is looking forward to guiding our students since we are already a nationally recognized rocketry program.
6. Your youngest will bring home the September letter tomorrow with information about Option C, among other things.
7. In addition to our usual intentions, please pray for the mother of Skyelin Heim (3C) Christine Schneider, and the grandmother of Jayden Hays (5A) Linda Tammaro, who both passed away.
